On August 2, the factory price index of Nordic hot coil was 647.92 euros ($706.2) / ton, down 8.33 euros / ton week on week. In southern Europe, the factory price index of Italian hot volume on August 2 was 635.83 euros ($693.1) / ton, down 7.92 euros / ton week on week. Many Italian hot coil buyers are on leave, so the Italian hot coil market remains light, and some Italian steel mills have finished their production line overhaul, but most will not resume until late August or early September. Some Italian buyers evaluate the more feasible factory transaction price in the current Italian market at 630-640 euros / ton. The European import hot coil market was also light this week, with some Asian hot rolls quoted 580-620 euros / ton (CFR), including Vietnam 580 euros / ton (CFR); this week Turkey to Italy 620 euros / ton (CFR).
