AR450 Abrasion Resistant Steel Plate

Overview

● Abrasion resistant steel grade that offers more surface hardness than AR400 without compromising ductility and formability.

● Surface hardness of 410-490 BNH.

● Ideal for moderate-to-heavy wear uses, such as in bucket components, dump body trucks and construction

equipment.

● Also referred to as AR450F (formable).

● Composition and hardening processes differ between mills. Mill test reports are supplied with each order.

1) A short gauge sample is used in tensile test in Transverse direction.

2) Transverse sample is used in the bending test, d=bending diameter, a=thickness of  steel sheet.

3) Charpy V-notch longitudinal sample is used in impact test. The values in the table  are required from full size (10x10x55,mm).            Not testing Under 6mm thickness .

Application Technology

Cutting

Cutting of Runfei series wear-resistant steel is as simple as cutting regular mild steel. Regarding the actual cutting process, is often even simpler to cut Runfei series wear-resistant steel compared with mild steel due to the cleanness of the steel. However while cutting thick  plates of Runfei series wear-resistant steel some  attention is needed due to the risk of cut edge cracking. Runfei series wear-resistant steel can be cutted by Oxy  fuel cutting, Plasma cutting and Laser cutting.

Shear

High-strength wear-resistant steel can be sheared, but it is required  the greater the shear force for the higher tensile strength material.  We do not recommend cutting AR400, AR450 and AR500 wear-resistant steel plates

Bending   

The steel plate can be bend, but must control the bending inner  diameter and angle strictly, the higher the strength of the steel plate,  it required more the bending force, more rebound force and rebound  angle, so it requires suitable upper die diameter and counterdie  opening.

Welding

The 80kg grade high strength welding wire is preferred for Yuxuan series  wear-resistant steel . Low hydrogen welding method and welding  materials are preferred. When using manual electrode welding, the basic  electrode should be selected. During MAG welding, the welding protective gas is (15-25%) CO2 +Ar gas and the gas flow rate is 10 ~ 25 L/min. No- swing in the welding,  Multi-layer and multi-pass welding, it is recommended not to exceed  10kJ/cm of welding heat input . Automatic welding equipment should be  used for welding of long straight weld as far as possible. Welding should be carried out indoors, and the ambient temperature  should not be less than 5 ℃.If the temperature is below 5℃ or the  ambient humidity is high, the preheating temperature should be increased by 25 0C at minimum. The weld height of butt joint shall not exceed 3mm.Weld location layout is strictly prohibited dense cross.

Welding materials in the storage and process must be freed the damp, greasy and dirt.  Check the shape quality of the steel plate before groove processing, and confirm that  the side bending is no more than 0.5mm and the inequality is no more than 0.5mm.  Clean and grinding the groove and both sides of the groove, and make sure there is no  rust or oil stains within 30mm. Multilayer welding shall be performed continuously,  grinding and cleaning of welding slag and spatter on the surface shall be carried out  after the completion of each welding pass. During welding, arc ignition should not be allowed in outside the welding area. Arc  scratch on the steel surface should be avoided. When welding arc closing, arc pit  should be filled, arc pit crack is not allowed.
