On May 19th, Turkey’s hot roll imports were valued at US $580,595 / ton (CFR), down by US $5 / ton from the previous week, while Turkey’s hot roll exports were valued at US $680,700 / ton (FOB) on May 19th, down US $15-20 / ton from the previous week. According to the Turkish market, Chinese hot rolls were quoted for mainstream exports to Turkey last week at US $590-US $595 per tonne (CFR), compared with US $585,600 per tonne (CFR) the week before. Last week, Turkey’s mainstream hot roll exports quoted US $680-720 per tonne (FOB), down 10-15 US dollars per tonne compared with the previous week. A significant number of export orders for Turkish hot rolls were not heard last week, and Turkish hot rolls are facing more price-competitive Asian hot rolls in some of its major export markets.
