European Hot Rolled Steel Coil Prices Increase

On April 5, the factory price index of hot rolled steel coil in the Nordic region was 859.38 euros / ton, up 15.63 euros / ton week-on-week.

According to Nordic market news, the Nordic hot rolled steel coil market in the first half of this week is actually light, the current Nordic steel mill on the hot rolled steel coil order psychological price is about 900 euros / ton, but buyers generally believe that such a high price is unacceptable, and the evaluation of the current hot rolled steel coil order more reasonable factory transaction price in 840-860 euros / ton. In the past two weeks, two fires have occurred in the production lines of European steel giant ArcelorMittal’s Spanish and French steel mills, which have had a significant impact on its hot rolled steel coil supply and also affected the Nordic market.

In Central Europe, the mainstream arrival price of hot rolled steel coil at local steel mills this week was 860-870 euros / ton, and the delivery period was mainly in June.

In Southern Europe, the Italian hot rolled steel coil ex-factory price index was 851.88 euros/mt on April 5, up 22.3 euros/mt week-on-week. This week, the mainstream ex-factory quotation of hot rolled steel coil in the delivery period of Italian comprehensive steel mills in June and July was 860-880 euros / ton, and some buyers offered 830 euros / ton, and the actual transaction price of 840-850 euros / ton was currently assessed by buyers as more feasible, and the actual transaction of Italian hot rolled steel coil market orders in the first half of this week was very small.

In terms of imported hot rolled steel coil, the mainstream export price of hot rolled steel coil from South Korea and Vietnam to Italy this week was 770-780 euros / ton (CFR), and one Indian steel mill hot rolled steel coil to Italy was quoted at 760-765 euros / ton (CFR). Due to the extension of the delivery time of hot rolled steel coil in Europe, the willingness of European buyers to import hot rolled steel coil is also increasing.
